Bosch Adds Adjustable Traction Control in Flow App Update

Bosch’s latest eBike Flow update adds per-mode traction control, drivetrain preload settings and clearer charging information.

Bosch eBike Systems has released version 1.38 of its eBike Flow app, expanding how riders can tune compatible smart-system drive units. The headline feature is adjustable traction control, which can now be configured separately for individual riding modes.

Four settings are available: off, low, medium and high. Lower intervention gives riders more direct control on firm ground, while higher intervention is intended to reduce rear-wheel spin on wet, loose or technical surfaces. The setting is found in the app under the advanced options for custom riding modes.

Bosch has also made its Drivetrain Tensioner configurable by riding mode. The function applies light preload to the drivetrain, reducing the initial pedal movement before drive reaches the rear wheel. This can make acceleration feel more immediate when restarting on a climb, exiting a tight bend or moving a loaded cargo bike. It remains disabled by default.

Other changes include a more persistent Trick Check display and an estimated charging-time readout when the bike is plugged in. Bosch says the charging estimate appears on all compatible displays except the Intuvia 100; riders with Flow+ and a ConnectModule can also view it in the app.

For SUV e-bike users, the update is notable because it adds terrain-specific control without requiring new hardware. Riders can create one mode focused on grip for slippery climbs and another with less electronic intervention for dry trails or everyday road use. Availability depends on the installed motor and smart-system compatibility.
