Moustache Lundi 27 Adopts Bosch’s First Hub Motor

Moustache has redesigned its Lundi 27 city e-bike around Bosch’s new Hub Line motor, cutting weight while retaining everyday utility.

Moustache Lundi 27 Adopts Bosch’s First Hub Motor cover

Moustache has introduced an updated Lundi 27 built around Bosch’s first hub-drive e-bike motor. The redesign marks a notable shift for both companies: Bosch is best known for mid-drive systems, while Moustache has used those units extensively across its range.

The new Bosch Hub Line weighs 2.3 kg and delivers up to 45 Nm of torque and 400 W of peak power. Moustache pairs it with a removable 360 Wh PowerTube battery weighing 2.1 kg. The brand estimates typical range at up to 70 km and says a full charge takes just under two hours. A 250 Wh PowerMore range extender is also compatible.

Using the more compact drive system has allowed Moustache to make the step-through Lundi 27 slimmer and 3.5 kg lighter than its predecessor. Claimed complete weights are 23.8 kg for the single-speed Gates belt version and 24.1 kg for the model equipped with a nine-speed Shimano Cues drivetrain. Both retain the practical equipment expected of an urban utility bike, including hydraulic disc brakes, mudguards, lights, a rear rack, an Abus frame lock and a suspension seatpost.

UK pricing is set at £2,299 for either standard drivetrain. A £2,699 Launch Edition adds a ten-speed Cues transmission, Bosch connectivity hardware, a smartphone mount and upgraded front lighting. The launch gives Bosch’s new hub platform an early production showcase in a well-established European commuter model.
