Aventon Opens First German Showroom in Munich as US Brands Push Into DACH cover

US e-bike manufacturer Aventon has taken its next step into the German market, opening its first company-owned showroom in Munich. The location in the city’s Westend district (Ganghoferstraße 66) officially opened on August 19, roughly five months after the brand’s German launch in early March.

The move signals a hybrid retail strategy that goes beyond pure direct-to-consumer sales. Visitors can view the brand’s lineup, get in-person advice, and book test rides in advance — with demo loops running through Munich’s city streets. Bikes ordered through Aventon’s German webshop can also be picked up via click and collect, handed over fully assembled and adjusted. For Munich customers, delivery with assembly is available as well.

The showroom is particularly relevant for the Current series, Aventon’s sporty e-MTB entry into the German market. Depending on the variant, the Current EXP, ADV, and REC combine aluminum or carbon main frames with Aventon’s in-house Ultro drive system, which delivers up to 120 Nm of torque in its strongest mode — figures that put it in direct competition with high-torque systems from established European players.

Aventon says the new location complements, rather than replaces, its existing network of test and service partners in specialty retail, meaning maintenance and repairs won’t be limited to Munich. For the DACH region, the opening is another sign that US direct-to-consumer brands are willing to invest in physical presence to win over European buyers who still want to ride before they buy.
