German brand FOCUS has announced a comprehensive refresh of its e-mountainbike lineup for the 2027 model year, headlined by a simplified naming structure and a series of targeted spec updates across the JAM, SAM, and THRON platforms.
Since FOCUS now concentrates exclusively on electric mountain bikes, the familiar “²” suffix is being dropped — the JAM² becomes simply the JAM, and the same applies to the SAM and THRON. Model tiers are reduced to a single digit, with MAX and LTD designations reserved for the top of the range.
The trail-focused JAM sees the biggest changes. Its top tube now integrates the Bosch Kiox 400C display in a protective recess, a solution first previewed on the JAM² NEXT prototype. A new limited-edition JAM LTD, capped at 200 units and priced at €7,499, pairs Bosch’s fifth-generation Performance Line CX motor with a 600 Wh battery, FOX Factory suspension, and Shimano’s new XT Di2 drivetrain. The broader JAM range starts at €4,399, with 600 Wh or 800 Wh battery options throughout.
The long-travel SAM keeps its proven frame but gains upgraded RockShox suspension on the flagship SAM 9, while the touring and everyday-oriented THRON — the most SUV-relevant model in the range — moves to a larger battery for extended range.
For SUV e-bike shoppers, the takeaway is clear: cleaner integration, bigger batteries, and easier-to-navigate model names are becoming the industry standard heading into 2027.
