One of cycling’s most storied names is coming back. Peugeot Cycles has announced a full relaunch under French licensee Rebirth Group, with a first generation of seven bicycles and e-bikes spanning road, gravel, mountain, city and long-distance categories.
Unlike previous badge-engineering exercises, this revival comes with real industrial commitments. Assembly will take place at Re-Cycles France in Romilly-sur-Seine, a site with deep roots in the French bicycle industry, and series production is scheduled to begin in October 2026. Michelin has been confirmed as tyre partner, and the international licensing agreement runs all the way to 2042 — a signal that this is intended as a long-term program rather than a nostalgic limited edition.
The bikes will launch first in France, sold through the Rebirth Group’s own retail networks Vélo & Oxygen and Ovelo, with market entry planned for late 2026 or early 2027 depending on the model. Talks about expanding distribution to Germany, Spain and Asia are reportedly underway, though no dates or partners have been confirmed for the DACH region yet.
Key details remain open: Peugeot has not yet published prices, weights, geometries or full spec sheets, and it is unclear which drive systems the electric models will use. For the SUV e-bike segment, the mountain and long-distance categories are the ones to watch — a Peugeot-badged, French-built trekking e-bike could be a genuinely interesting addition to a market dominated by German and Swiss brands.
